International Service Learning

 

      

                                

 

The Office of International Programs encourages student involvement in our local and global communities. International Service Learning opportunities provide intercultural learning experiences that connect classroom knowledge with real life, while working with a community to meet identified needs. Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE)-Students take courses and participate in community service projects for a semester in Santiago, Dominican Republic or Cape Town, South Africa

Educational Praxis- Engage in educational activities abroad that promote embracing diversity and strengthening communities

International Partnership for Service Learning- This organization’s goal is to develop and promote service-learning in institutions of higher education around the world

Leadership & Service in Linongwe, Malawi- Grass roots research initiative that allows students to educate Malawians on sustainable living while learning about Malawi culture (open to all majors)

Middlesex University, London- Undertake valuable volunteer projects while earning the Service Learning UK Award

Operation Crossroads Africa- Travel to different countries in Africa on a seven week cross-cultural exchange program with volunteer projects in community construction/development, women in development, agriculture/reforestation, community medical or health outreach, and education/training projects

Stellenbosch University- Nation building and development initiative in South Africa

Tec de Monterrey- Learn Spanish while taking part in community outreach programs

Tsinghua University China Summer Service Learning Program- The Summer Service Learning Program (SSLP) brings Chinese and International undergraduates together to combat poverty issues in rural China. Students will spend approximately three weeks developing and implementing a service learning project in rural China.
