Program Description

This 10 day study abroad program is designed for student enrolled in PSYC 501/485: Special Topics in Human Development for the spring 2016 semester. The course surveys developmental theories and research on the biological, psychological, and social factors within a cultural framework, while giving students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant cultures of Senegal and Gambia. Participants will visit the infamous slaving fort on Goree Island, visit traditional villagers and craft markets, and travel across the Gambian River.
