In selecting Sponsors, Mountbatten seeks companies that will provide hands-on training in order to develop professional, transferable skills and competencies.
Salary/Allowance

No salary or allowance is paid to the intern by sponsor companies.

Living allowance: GBP £615 per month paid monthly in arrears.

A fee of GBP £8 per month will be deducted from your living allowance for basic telephone and internet service.

The type of work is ultimately determined by the needs of a host country and the potential of a Volunteer to contribute to those needs and to the Peace Corps' mission.

Nearly all Volunteering work fall under one of the following general categories: Agriculture, Education, Youth & Community Development, Health, Environment, HIV/AIDS, Food Security, Earth Day, Business and Information and Communication Technology.
Allowance

The Peace Corps provides Volunteers with a living allowance that enables them to live in a manner similar to the local people in their community.

To assist with the transition back home, Volunteers are paid US $7,425 (before taxes) at the close of 27 months of service.
