Job Description

  • Teach in developing countries as a full- time teacher.   
  • Teach English primarily but may also teach math, science, computer skills and HIV/AIDS awareness.

Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program

Eligibility

  • Be a citizen of the country where the recruitment and selection procedures take place.
  • Those who possess dual citizenship with Japan must renounce their Japanese citizenship before the date for submission of the JET Program Reply Form.)
  • In principle, be 40 years of age or less as of April 1st.
  • Applicants must not have lived in Japan for six or more years in total since 2000.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years or more in a training course in teaching at elementary or secondary schools.    
  • Be qualified as a language teacher or be strongly motivated to take part in the teaching of foreign languages

Job Description

  • Participants are assigned to be either:
  • Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) who provide language instruction in elementary, junior and senior high schools.
  • Coordinators for International Relations(CIRs) who work in communities on international exchange activities; or
  • Sports Exchange Advisors (SEAs) who promote international exchange through sports.

 Salary

  • Participants receive about 300,000 Yen a month

  • Limited to citizens of Canada, the US or any Asian country.
  • Canadian participants must enroll as MBA candidates.
  • Holders of dual nationality where one country is any other European Union country should contact the Program before applying.

  • Most applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above (for those graduating from an American institute of higher education).

Job Description

  • You must be prepared to undertake entry level and administrative office work.   
  •  In selecting Sponsors, Mountbatten seeks companies that will provide hands-on training in order to develop professional, transferable skills and competencies.

Salary/Allowance
  • No salary or allowance is paid to the intern by sponsor companies.
  • Allowances are paid by the Program (your employer of record)
  • Living allowance:   GBP £615 per month paid monthly in arrears.
  • A fee of GBP £8 per month will be deducted from your living allowance for basic telephone and internet service.

Peace Corps

Eligibility

  • U.S. citizens only
  • You must be over age 18

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Liberal arts degrees
  • An associate degree combined with work experience. 
  • Competitive non-degree candidates must have 3–5 years full-time work experience in business, agriculture, construction, information and communication technology, youth development, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Those with specialized skills such as Agroforesters, engineers, urban planners, deaf education teachers and university-level teachers are considered.

  • Volunteers are encouraged to apply 9-12 months before they will be ready to begin their services.

Job Description

  • The type of work is ultimately determined by the needs of a host country and the potential of a Volunteer to contribute to those needs and to the Peace Corps' mission.                                                                                                                  
  • Nearly all Volunteering work fall under one of the following general categories:   Agriculture, Education, Youth & Community Development, Health, Environment, HIV/AIDS, Food Security, Earth Day, Business and Information and Communication Technology.     

Allowance
  • The Peace Corps provides Volunteers with a living allowance that enables them to live in a manner similar to the local people in their community.
  •   To assist with the transition back home, Volunteers are paid US $7,425 (before taxes) at the close of 27 months of service.
