Ms. Johnson comes NC A&T from Washington State University in Pullman where she was an Education Abroad Adviser/Outgoing Exchange Coordinator. She earned her BA degree in English and French at Spelman College and her Master's degree in International Education at the School for International Training. She served as a graduate intern in the Study Abroad Office at Spelman College. As an undergraduate, she was an IIPP fellow and studied abroad in Martinique and France. Upon graduation, she returned to France to work as an English language assistant. |

| BIO: |
Mrs. Mayes is the founding Director of The Office of International Programs (OIP) and it’s nationally recognized interdisciplinary Global Studies Certificate Program. Mrs. Mayes began her career in international affairs at the United Nations in New York in 1975. This was followed by positions in Cameroon with CARE, Inc. and the American Council for Nationalities Services/Joint Voluntary Agency, in the Vietnamese refugee camps of Singapore and Indonesia.
Mrs. Mayes came to A&T from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Information Agency where she spent 20 years as an independent contractor for its educational and cultural exchange programs with assignments to various organizations including the Institute for International Education, the Academy for Educational Development, the USDA Graduate School, and several international assignments to Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Mrs. Mayes received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the State University of New York (now Binghamton University) in 1975 and earned a Masters Degree in International Administration from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont in 1981.
Mrs. Mayes currently serves as a member of the Gilman International Scholarship National Review Panel, the School for International Training (SIT) Partnership Council and Arcadia University College of Global Studies National Advisory Board. On campus at NCA&TSU, she serves as the Chair of the SACS Subcommittee on Operations, and Chair of the University’s Strategic Planning Committee on Global Readiness.
