About North Carolina A&T State University

North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University(NC A&T) has a student population of approximately 11,000 making it the largest historically Black university in the state of North Carolina and the second largest in the United States. A comprehensive university offering degree programs at the baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral levels, it has one of three engineering schools in the University of North Carolina system. NC A&T has one of only two schools of agriculture in North Carolina.

While NCA&T is an outstanding academic institution, it also maintains a national reputation in intercollegiate athletics.Championship-caliber men's and women's teams attract thousands of supporters and friends to athletic contests on and off the campus.Aggie teams have competed outstandingly in the NCAA Division 1 level in some of the major arenas and fields in the United States.The current athletic teams include football, basketball, baseball, tennis, indoor track, outdoor track, swimming, bowling and cross country for men; and basketball, softball, volleyball, indoor and outdoor track for women.

In the area of intramural athletics, NC A&T provides recreational opportunities for more than 2,500 students.This well-administered program includes team and individual play in football, basketball, softball, aerobics, soccer, weightlifting, volleyball, karate and bowling.

Deadlines

Exchange student applications must be submitted through the Exchange Coordinator on your campus. Application must be received by the following deadlines:

Housing
 
ISEP students will be housed in Aggie Village in a double room with meal plan A, which consists of 19 meals per week in the cafeteria plus $50.00 flex dollars to be used at any on-campus restaurant.
 
Non-ISEP students may select the residence hall and meal plan of your choice. Please visit the housing website for more information. Once you have chosen your residence hall and meal plan please email your selections to Alicia Wallace Jones. Please be prepared to fill out a housing application and to pay the $150.00 application fee upon arrival.
 
Health
 
It is very important that you review the Sebestian Student Health Center website for immunizations required for NC. Please review and fill out the Medical packet and bring these forms and your immunization records with you to NC A&T. Any immunizations that you do not have record or proof of will need to be retaken upon arrival. Please be prepared to pay for any immunizations that you do not have record/proof of.

Arrival Information

Prior to departure, please contact Alicia Wallace Jones, Program Assistant of the exact date and time of your arrival. When making travel plans you should allow enough time for both air travel and ground tranportation in order to arrive during regular office hours, 8:00 am-5:00 pm.

Students should plan to arrive on January 4, 2010, when a representative of our office can meet you at the airport and transport you to campus. If necessary, students can take a taxi from Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTI) to campus which takes approximately 20 minutes and costs approx. $25.
